Position Vacant - Higher Learning and Support Needs Educator - Temporary Part time fixed term

The Little School Preschool Inc seeks a qualified, experienced, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic early education professional to join us as a Temporary Fixed Part time Educator, starting Term 1 2023.
In this role you will be able to share your skills and passion for Early Childhood Education by supporting, the team in their everyday practices on the floor, building and maintaining positive relationships with children and families and reporting to the Director, Nominated Supervisor and educational Leader as part of a collaborative high-quality team.
This position would suit a Diploma or Certificate 111 of Children’s Services Qualified Individual or Provisional Early Childhood Teacher.

The key functions of an Educators role are to:
  • Report to supervisory staff throughout the day
  • Work collaboratively in the development, implementation and review of the educational program to ensure consistent, high-quality education and practices throughout the preschool.
  • Learn and implement the Early Start Denver Model Teaching practices and Principals
  • Work within the philosophy and direction of the overall organisation, with autonomy in managing your workload while working collaboratively to develop programs for children.
  • Participate in professional development, critical reflective practices and overall quality improvement practices
  • Ensure learning and development is aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.
  • Implement and evaluate programs indoors and outdoors with guidance from the Educational Leader.
  • Create a stimulating and positive environment for the children.
  • Write observations and analyse children's progression and development.
  • Provide support and assistance to other staff members.
  • Develop strong relationships with children and effectively communicate with parents and carers.
  • Fulfill the position requirements of the qualification you hold (Certificate 111, Diploma Qualified Educator or Early Childhood Teacher).
  • Nurture our preschool community, ensuring all members feel well supported.
  • Work directly with children, families and the staffing team.
  • Participate in and respond to Coaching and mentoring interactions staff on the floor.
  • Understand and implement Preschool values, mission, policies and practices.
  • Report to and work with the Managing Director, Nominated Supervisors and Educational Leader to provide a cohesive team to support staff, children and families.
  • Understand laws and regulations pertaining to the ECEC sector.
  • Maintain exceeding practice standards throughout all aspects of practice.

Interview and Employment Process: 
Stage 1: Each applicant will be provided with a written pre interview questionnaire 
Stage 2: Interviewees will be selected from the stage 1 responses
Stage 3: Interviews will be conducted Tuesday 17th January 
Stage 4: Employment Process Paperwork to be finalised by Tuesday 24th January
Stage 5: Training to commence from 28th January 2023

Minimum requirements
  • An ACECQA approved qualification at Certificate III level or higher
  • Working with Children Check.
  • A First Aid qualification that is approved by ACECQA that includes applying first aid, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis.
  • Child protection qualification approved by relevant State Regulatory body.
